About the IP Lookup

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is IP geolocation?

Country is usually right; city-level accuracy varies and can be off by tens of kilometres, since it reflects the ISP's routing rather than your exact position.

Why does a private IP return no data?

Addresses such as 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x are reserved for local networks and have no public location.

Can someone find my home address from my IP?

Not from geolocation alone. It reveals a general area and your ISP, not a street address.
