About the CSV to JSON Converter
Convert comma-separated values into JSON without writing a script. Paste CSV exported from Excel, Google Sheets or a database and the converter produces an array of objects, using the first row as keys, or an array of arrays if your data has no header row. It handles quoted fields, escaped quotes, alternative delimiters such as semicolons, tabs and pipes, and automatically converts numbers, booleans and null values to their JSON types.
How to use the CSV to JSON Converter
- Paste or type your CSV data into the input box.
- Pick the delimiter used in your file and tick whether the first row contains headers.
- Choose the JSON indentation you prefer, or minified output.
- Copy the JSON or download it as a file; use preview mode to double-check the parsed table.
Frequently asked questions
My columns are misaligned. What went wrong?
Usually the delimiter is wrong. Files from some regions use semicolons instead of commas. Switch the delimiter option and the columns should line up.
How are numbers and booleans handled?
Values that look like numbers become JSON numbers, "true" and "false" become booleans, and "null" becomes null. Everything else stays a string.
Can I convert a file with thousands of rows?
Yes. Conversion runs locally and handles large files well; only the preview is limited to the first rows.
